Graduated from Maritime Academy Malaysia (ALAM) with a Diploma in Nautical Studies and holds a Certificate of Competency Class I (Unlimited Voyage) and Certificate of Competency for Master of Vessel above 3,000GT. He has about 10 years of sailing experience onboard clean product oil tankers, chemical tankers, and container vessels. He was also a Maritime Lecturer with a local college and a member of The Nautical Institute (UK).
